Celebrity Classic at
Saratoga National Golf Club
EVENT FACT SHEET:

Located approximately 3 hours from
Manhattan.
What:
A professionally
sanctioned Celebrity Players Tour (CPT) golf event, where players compete in a
stroke-play format for prize money.
Participants:
The field will consist of players from the worlds of
television, film, theatre and different stars from various sports. Players
expected to participate include Charles Barkley, Olympic Hall of Famer Dan
Jansen, current NFL football stars, as well as Al Del Greco, Shane Rawley,
George Gervin, Johnny Bench, Dan Marino, Steve Cauthen, Ivan Lendl, Davey
Johnson, Paul O'Neill and Jack Wagner. The highly competitive circuit is without
question the most complete entertainment package in existence today.
Participants:
A Minimum of 60 players will comprise the celebrity tournament field.
Visitors:
Over 15,000 visitors throughout the whole tournament
Format:
The celebrity players will compete against each other in a 36-hole stroke-play
format over the weekend. On the first two days (Thursday and Friday) of the
event, a corporate Pro-Am will be held featuring the athletes, celebrities,
sponsors and guests.
Television Coverage:
There will be a one-hour highlights broadcast locally.
Radio Coverage:
Local Clear Channel radio stations will broadcast live on-site during Pro-Am
days.
Marketing:
$300,000 in promotional media including tournament advertisements in the local
market through print (Times Union and The Saratogian) as well as local
television (WRGB) and radio (Clear Channel)
Prize Money:
$250,000
Parallel Events:
Two Day Pro-Am: 60 teams featuring one celebrity and four amateur players
Evening functions including dinners and charity auctions.

Daily Tickets and Weekly Ground Pass tickets can be purchased each
day at the general parking lot, across from the entrance to Saratoga National
Golf Club.

Young created the Peter G. Young Foundation to help the homeless. Often a
person, for various reasons, is ineligible to receive medicaid or other public
funding, and must fend for themselves. Using 100% private donations, Father
Young is able to feed and shelter the homeless for whom there is no other help
